A mission that ASG takes to heart is sewing community service and
charitable projects each year. Neighborhood groups each
choose a project for their local community and the Chapter Advisory Board
(CAB) decides upon a
project that the Chapter as a whole contributes to. This is one of
the most rewarding aspects of ASG - using our skills and talents to
benefit others around us.
Our newest Neighborhood Group is the Angels Sewing Group. This
group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month and is focused on
community sewing projects (and when we're caught up with those, personal
UFOs). See the NG Calendar
for location and time. This year our Chapter projects include
placemats and table napkins for families moving into their new Habitat for
Humanity homes. It's a wonderful way to welcome a family into a new
home and help them celebrate their new start in life. We will also
work on walker bag,
Our ASG national project are pillow cases for children
who are staying in Ronald McDonald houses. You can get instructions
for this project on the web at :

If you have an idea for a project for a local
non-profit group, tell your
Neighborhood Group leader who will share the information with the CAB for further consideration.
Individuals and groups performing community service are asked to report
their efforts on the Community
Service Reporting form. Turn your forms into Nancy Hill,
Community Service Chair.
